Finish the Sentence Friday – Week 31

Well we have made it through another week of this crazy summer.  This was only my second full week home alone with both boys and we survived {barely}.  I will admit that it was a pretty rough week.  The boys know that I can’t get around as quickly as I used too and they are taking advantage of me BIG TIME.  They have been pretty aggressive and have had some naughty mouths.  Time outs have been very difficult because they won’t sit still and I can’t chase them around the house.  Sean has been on another destructive spree this week.  This time he took on the curtains in the living room.  The curtains lost.  I swear this house is falling apart because of this boy.  I just can’t keep up with all of the repairs. Did I mention that school starts one month from today for both of the boys. Did you hear me ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL SCHOOL STARTS!  Not like I am counting down the days or anything!

We tried to keep ourselves busy this week with the pool, the park, playdates and some jumping time at Bounce U.  The boys had a sweaty good time and I actually had an hour and a half to talk to my friends! It was great .. up until it was time to leave and the fighting started all over again.  After bouncy time we had to go to Ben’s first karate class.  He LOVED it {thank goodness he found something he likes besides my iPad}.  He is looking forward to going back again next week.  Sean on the other hand was a complete and utter disaster.  He wanted to participate in the class but he can’t.  He ran out onto the mat and I had to waddle out there and grab him with all the parents watching me.  It was quite embarrassing.  He had several breakdowns and I could not distract him at all. I had to walk outside with him 4 separate times.  I am so happy that Ben found something that he loves but I have no clue how I am going to go twice a week and deal with Sean {and eventually the baby}. It’s going to be quite a challenge.

Not the best picture but I was too busy chasing Sean around to get any good ones!

Now onto the Finish the Sentence Friday post!  This week’s sentence to finish is: “I have a bad habit of…”

I have a lot of bad habits!  I bite my nails, I procrastinate, I interrupt people and I am very indecisive. But those are not the worst of my bad habits.  The one that bothers me the most is that I always think that the worst is about to happen. I am always afraid of the negative side of things.  I am also so scared that something bad will happen in any given situation.  I fear that every new spot on my body is skin cancer, I fear every time I let go of Sean’s hand that he is going to get hit by a car, I am afraid that the boys will get hurt every time they are playing at the playground.  If my husband is out late at night at a concert I always fear the worst and will not sleep until I know that he is home safely.  I am a worrier and having kids has made it so much worse.  I wish that I could just shut off my brain sometimes and let it go but I can’t.  It’s not that easy.   I am so afraid of sending Sean to kindergarten next year {and I still worry about pre-school this year}. I am afraid he is going to fall out a bus window {because he will be the one that will open it and try to climb out}, I fear that he is going to get on the wrong bus and get lost, I fear that he is going to sneak away during school and run outside alone.

This stuff keeps me up at night.  I constantly have nightmares about the boys safety.  Now having this third kid has brought on another whole set of fears!  I won’t even go into them because I might have a panic attack typing them all out!

Now you know why I like to drink wine! It helps me relax a little bit.  I am counting down the days until I can have that first large glass of Chardonnay.

Alrighty, now that you know that I am a complete whack job I am ending this post!  This weekend we are headed down to Delaware for some family time.  I hope that we can get to the boardwalk for some rides and games!

Have a great weekend!

Thank GOD it’s Friday!  It’s been a long, rough week with the boys and their behavior.  I need this weekend so bad! I need the hubby to take over for a bit.  We did have a great time with mom mom but the naughty behavior is all that I can really remember.  Oh I did get a haircut {thanks mom}.  I have to confess that it’s been 10 months since my last haircut.  That’s what happens when you put everything else in front of yourself and your needs.  I am dying to get some color done though.  Maybe I’ll go right before I deliver this little guy.   But at least I got all of my dead ends chopped off.

This weekend we are going to take the boys to see Despicable Me 2. They had such a great time at Monsters University last weekend {and I survived} so we are going to attempt it again this weekend. Sunday is going to be beach day! Trying to squeeze in some more beach time before the end of the summer.

And now for this week’s Finish the Sentence Friday…

The sentence to finish is: “My bucket list includes…”

Let’s see, this is a tough one for me because I have never really thought about my bucket list.  I always wanted to get married, have babies and stay at home with the.  That’s all come true.  So I have already checked off a huge part of my list.

I would like to get a house someday.  I love our townhouse to death but it really is getting tight for the four of us {I can’t imagine how it’s going to feel when the little man arrives}.  I always wanted that 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath colonial.  One day!

I have always wanted to go to Ireland, London and Paris and we did that back in 2006 {you can view all of the pictures here, here and here}.  I would like to see Greece one day.  It looks so freaking gorgeous in pictures!  The only other place that I would love to travel to would be Hawaii and of course Disney World.

I hope that I am around long enough to see my kids graduate college, get married and have lots of babies! I want to see the look on their faces when their kids act up and cause lots of drama!

Finish the Sentence Friday – Week 29

Well it’s finally Friday! We survived another week {almost}. My son just dunked my hair dryer into my toliet about 20 seconds before I plugged it in to dry my hair. Thank goodness for me and the baby that I didn’t get shocked but I think my hair dryer is going to the dump! I know that I don’t even need to tell you which child of mine did this! This is what I get for trying to change sheets on a bed. God forbid I clean something up!

This weekend is going to be a fun and busy one. Tonight my hubby is taking me to Atlantic City to see The Package Tour. That’s right ladies, I am going to see NKOTB, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men! WOO HOO!!!!!! I know that he is super excited too {NOT}. But he gets to attend a lot of concerts during the summer so this is how I get my revenge. He has no clue what he is in for.

Then on Saturday we are headed down to Delaware to celebrate my sister’s wedding. Yes, she got married in February but they weren’t able to have a reception because of busy schedules. So tomorrow is the day we get to celebrate! It’s going to be a big pool party at my mom’s house. I can’t wait.

Sunday is going to be a relaxing day! Hahaha NEVER! I plan on moving the toddler beds out of the baby’s room and start cleaning it up a bit. We need to get the wall repaired and painted soon. I am also hoping that we have time to take the boys to see Monsters University sometime that day. We will see.

Alright so enough about me, let’s get to the Finish the Sentence Friday post!

This week’s question is: “The best and worst parts of blogging are…”

The best part about blogging is that I have a place where I can turn to to either vent, celebrate or share everything that goes on in my life. The good, the bad and the ugly. I have a memory book of sorts of the past and I can open up my page at any time and reflect on things. I sometimes forget what happened 5 minutes ago, let alone 6 months ago. I love just looking back at the pictures and posts and laughing {or crying} about some of the craziness that has gone on in our lives. Plus I get to share it all with you. I love that part as well. I love hearing your stories and I love knowing that I am not alone in this crazy world of parenting.

Now the worst part about blogging would have to be the time. It takes a lot of time to write and post each day. At the beginning I had a little more time since both boys were at school and I wasn’t pregnant. Now it’s the summer time and the boys consume my life 24/7. When I do have down time I tend to plop my butt on the couch with a snack, a glass of water and the DVR. Last night I fell asleep while laying with Ben at 7pm. I should have done this post last night but I had absolutely no energy. But I enjoy this blog and I am determined to keep it going. I might not post every day like I used to a few months ago but I am still posting often. It’s such a fun release and I enjoy it so much that I make the time for myself to sit down and write.

Alright everyone! That’s it for me this week. I am signing off until Monday. I am sure that I will have a bunch of pictures to share from the concert and party! Oh did I mention that my kids aren’t going to the party?? Nope, they are going to hang with my in-laws so Joey and I can have a day without chasing them around everywhere! Sweet!

Have a great weekend!

Finish the Sentence Friday – Week 24

Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week.   This one has been pretty crazy for me.  First, trying to adjust from coming back from our wonderful Avalon Vacation, then dealing with some crazy behavior from Ben. Then finally, having to prepare for the end of the school year and the start of another crazy summer home with 2 boys {while pregnant with my third}.  I am so happy that it’s finally Friday, plus the hubby is off today and Monday.

Today, I have an eye dr appointment because my eye has been throbbing lately.  Last time I went {a year and a half ago}, I had twitching and they said that it was from stress, too much caffeine and not enough sleep.  Well now that twitching has turned into aching pain.  And that scares me to death. I like my eye!   But after that appointment I am taking Ben to his neurologist for another update!     Then this weekend we have Father’s Day on Sunday and then Ben’s preschool graduation on Monday.  I cannot wait to watch him walk into the church in his cap and gown!  I know I will be crying quite a bit – I hope that I am able to take some pictures and video.  Thankfully my mom and inlaws will be up so I have some back up photographers!   After he is done, we are coming back to the house for a little party to celebrate!  Tuesday I am taking Ben to NYC for his skin appointment at the NYU cancer center.  He goes once a year to check out the nevus on his arm.  Then Wednesday I have a boatload of appointments – first my brain MRI.  Sounds like fun, right? While I am nervous about my headaches and slight facial numbness {combined with my eye pain}, I am looking forward to a few minutes of quiet while laying on the table during the scan.   Then it’s off to my OB for my 16 week visit!

Okay, now enough about me! Wait, this is my blog, I get to post all about myself so deal with it.  But it is Friday, so that means another round of Finish the Sentence Friday.   Here we go!

This week’s sentence is:  “The hardest part about my day is …”

The hardest part about my day is dealing with the fights between two boys!  I admit, I love some of my daily routine {if I didn’t, I would be back to work} but the fighting drives me insane!  The boys have a very high level of anxiety when it comes to their toys. Don’t you dare touch something that Ben was going to play with 20 minutes from now!  He will scream, he will hit and he will cry.   But don’t count Sean out, he returns the behavior – which is where I start to lose my mind.   I wish that they could settle it by themselves and leave me out of it because I am the one that takes the bullet.  It is always my fault when I try to bring peace.  Oh and don’t you dare tell one to go to time out, because then he will yell that I pushed him to the ground and threw him into a wall {disclaimer: both of which I have NEVER EVER DONE}.  They are also into the fib telling stage and that’s why they keep saying these crazy things!   If Ben goes near Sean, he will yell out “Ben just hit me in the face”.  Where do they come up with this stuff. I am standing right there, Ben did not touch him!   Boys!!!!!!  AHHH  just wait until the baby arrives.  He is going to be in big trouble with these two big brothers of his!  Start praying for me now. I think that after all of the fights that I have broken up this week along, I should be a referee in the WWE.

Finish the Sentence Friday – Week 23

Well, it’s officially Friday.  This Friday makes me a little sad because that means our vacation ends tomorrow and we will be heading home! Boo:(  Of course, I can’t wait to share the millions of pictures that I took this year at the shore.  It was a great vacation and I will be posting all of the fun details on Monday when I am back to my computer!!  But in the meantime enjoy another week of Finish the Sentence Friday.

This weeks sentence to finish is “I hit a turning point in my life when I …”

I have probably gone through several different turning points in my life, breakups, weddings, losing friends, giving birth, graduations, etc.  A lot of things have changed my life in the past decade and I wouldn’t change one thing but I think that I hit a turning point in my life when I had to bury my father.

I know that I have talked about this a lot on my blog, but it really did change me in so many different ways.   It was the single hardest thing that I have ever experienced in my life.  You can never prepare for losing a parent, especially when they were still so young.  It was such a crazy 4 months from the time he got sick until he passed away.  I was pregnant with Ben, moving from NYC to NJ, working in NYC and trying to get home every weekend to visit with my parents.

I don’t think that I had any major breakdowns during his illness but that last moment at the cemetery was when I lost it all and was changed forever.  I was daddy’s little girl but I just lost my dad.   I learned so many things from his passing.  Never take anything for granted because in a flash it could be gone, learn to depend on others even if you hate asking for help or assistance.  I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was.   It really was life changing.  In those four months, I grew up.

Thanks again for letting me share my story. I know that so many of my readers have lost a parent, a friend or even a spouse.  It’s something I would not wish on my worst enemy.  Even if your family annoys the crap out of you, hug them, love them and never take them for granted.  Yes, my kids are crazy maniacs but I love them so much.  Just like I know that my dad loved me.

Finish the Sentence Friday – Week 22

Well guys, it’s Friday!  Why do short weeks always seem to last forever. Monday was Memorial Day, Tuesday we had a play date with some friends, Wednesday was Sean’s field trip and Thursday was shopping day. Now that its Friday, I can finally relax. Haha. Yeah I know I laughed too. Today I am packing and cleaning. Avalon is calling my name! We leave tomorrow. Woo Hoo! Oh yeah, I forgot I shared with you all my pregnancy news!!! How could I forget that one. Like I said, it’s been a long and crazy week.

But since its Friday, it’s time for FTSF. Enjoy.

This weeks sentence to finish is “my favorite movie of all time is …”

This week’s question is a hard one because I don’t think that I have one favorite movie.  There are so many good ones to pick from.  I will probably just say that my favorite movie of all time is every rom-com that exists! I am a sucker for them!  There are quite a few movies that I will watch on TV if I am flipping channels and see that they are on.  Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Mystic Pizza, My Best Friend’s Wedding, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, etc… You get the idea.

I can’t help it. I love a good love story. You can guarantee that if Nicholas Sparks wrote the story or if it stars Julia Roberts, then I am obsessed with it.

happy Friday! Have a safe weekend.  I will be plopping my pregnant butt on the beach next week so my posts will be minimal. I have a few scheduled for you guys!!

This week’s sentence to finish: “I blog because….”

I blog because I wanted an online journal of the crazy happenings in our house. I originally started my blog when I was pregnant with Ben 5 + years ago. I stopped blogging when life got way too busy. I would do a post here or there but I was not consistent.  Back in August I started to write again. I had too many crazy stories that I wanted to document and share with family and friends. Some things that I blogged about we have all experienced and others are one of a kind.

It has become a stress release for me to share some of my stories.  I know the past few weeks I haven’t been too consistent with the blogs but I’m hoping to get back on schedule soon. It just became a bit too overwhelming and I just didn’t have the time to do it all. I still love sharing my stories and pictures with you all! I love hearing your comments {even if I forget to reply, I do read them all}.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you all have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.

This week’s sentence to finish: “When I was younger, I wanted to….”
When I was younger, I wanted to be tall and tan!  I hated that I was short and pale. I never could get a good tan and now that I am an adult I regret ever trying to obtain that perfect tan.   I destroyed my skin as a teenager and I am paying the price now!
I still want to be tall though!  Some things never change.  I just want to wear a darn maxi dress and look cute!   I just wish that I had a few more inches that’s all.
Oh well I guess I am always destined to be short and pale.  At least Joey is tall so the boys have a shot at some height!  Ben will always be pale like me but Sean does get some color in the summer {even through the 200 layers of SPF that I pile on him}.

This week’s sentence to finish: “This summer I plan to….”

This summer I plan to relax ALOT. We have so many things planned for the summer that I have to squeeze in a few days to rest and relax!  I want just a little bit of time to read a book on the beach or by the pool without hearing the voices of two little boys yelling out “Mommy!!!!”.

Hey a girl can dream right?

Happy Friday!  I am meeting some moms for breakfast this morning while the boys are in school. I love having some adult conversation!  Then I am off to order some beds for the boys!  Yes, it’s time to get them out of their toddler beds and into the world of big boy beds!  Wish me luck!

This week’s sentence to finish: “If I were stuck on an island, I would like to have”

If I were stuck on an island I would like to have my box of wine or a case of Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA! Yes, I said it.  I would pick my wine and beer over anything else! Okay maybe not ahead of my family but if I am going to be deserted on an island there better be wine {or beer}. I mean what else am I going to do all day?   Hopefully there will be a lifetime supply on the island or at least until I get rescued.
Wine
There’s nothing like sitting by the beach under the umbrella {assuming the last person deserted on this island left me their umbrella} with a nice cold glass of wine or beer!
How cute is this little setup?
