Erin’s Very 1st Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

Okay folks, the time has come for my very first holiday gift guide and giveaway. I have done product reviews and giveaways in the past but nothing ever like this. This is huge! I have so many awesome things that I can’t wait to share with you. No I wasn’t paid to do any of this. I am doing this because I love all of you and I love the products that I am sharing with you. Yes, some of them I was asked to review and blog about but I am only sharing the ones that I love and would use even if I wasn’t asked to write a review in the past. I am picky about which products I review and I only pick ones that I think will appeal to my readers and their families. After checking out all of these awesome items, make sure that you enter the contest below. There are a few free entries and a ton of other ones that you may need to work for. But it’s worth it. Whoever wins, will get something from every vendor or company on this list! Whether it’s an actual product, a discount code or a code for a freebie. I’m just giving you some ideas on gifts for you family, friends, teachers and anyone else that you give to during Christmas, Hanukkah, birthdays or any other holiday.

First up is something that is for the adults on my page. Wine glasses! You guys all know by now that I love my wine.  I love drinking out of cute glasses too.  One day I was searching Etsy for teacher gifts and found Kelly, the owner of MADPainterVA. She has been my source of wine glasses for over a year now. I have purchased quite a few glasses for the kids teachers (hey I figure that if they have to teach one of my kids then they must need wine). I have purchased special ones for my friends and I have even ordered a special University of Delaware one for myself.  MADPainterVA has a ton to pick from on her Etsy page, but I have sent Kelly images (like my UD glass) and she just whips it up and within 2-3 weeks its on my doorstep. I also love that they are HUGE glasses, not tiny little sample ones. Here are some pictures of a few that I have ordered from her in the past. Oh and for all of you LuLaRoe lovers she has a glass for you too. MADPainterVA offers a ton of personalized, hand painted glassware, ornaments and more. Check out MADPainterVA now! You can find the perfect gift for almost everyone on your list.  Oh and while typing this up I just noticed that she has Five Nights at Freddy’s ornaments! I might have to go order  a few for the boys now since they are obsessed!

Next up is Illumibowl, the motion-activated toilet night light.  Yes, I know it sounds funny but trust me it is pretty cool and becoming a pretty popular item.

unnamed-3 unnamed-2

I love this product, especially since I live in a house of all boys. The Illumibowl was featured on Shark Tank recently and has become a huge hit. I have a sleepwalker (or a sleep pee’er is that even a word?). He likes to wake up and hit the bathroom in the middle of the night. The problem is, he never hits the bowl. But leaving the light on is a huge pain for the other kids (and my husband hates when lights are left on). So here comes the Illumibowl. You connect it to the side of your toilet and set the color feature (you pick one color or you can have it rotate) and when it senses motion in the bathroom, it turns on. The bowl now glows at night so the wonderful men/boys in your life can aim a little better at 3am. It’s a huge hit and I love their newer model (here’s my review from the last model: Illumibowl Review).  The new model attaches to the bowl a little easier and will stay in place better. Check out their video from their time on Shark Tank.

You can find the Illumibowl at their website,, Bed, Bath and Beyond and Walmart. For my wonderful readers, in case you don’t win, you can still get a great deal on the Illumibowl. Click here to order your own and use the discount code IRISHMAMA for a great deal.

Another product that I have picked for you guys is called Kwik Stix.

Sean loved these when I reviewed them awhile back (Kwik Stix Review). He loved painting but I hated the mess. But these are different. There’s no water, no paint brushes, just a clean Kwik Stix.  So now there’s no mess and they dry pretty darn quickly.

image  unnamed-5  unnamed-6

Now that I have Owen in the painting stage, I was excited to pull these back out of my craft closet.  He loves them and I enjoy that there’s NO MESS!!! Since I did my last review on Kwik Stix, they have come out with some new products and you can purchase them in Target. I mean I know that we are all there a few times a week (don’t deny it, I run into you guys all of the time). These are a perfect as a stocking stuffer or just for your every day crafts.  Kwik Stix is giving our lucky winner two items.  The winner will receive a 6 pack of Metalix colors and a 6 pack of basic colors.  But remember you can find them online here, or at your local Target.

One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is decorate. I love the way that my house feels when it’s clean and decorated for Christmas. It makes my house feel like a nice cozy home.

img_0011  unnamed-1

I always buy garland and wreaths from Target or craft stores but I never have bought a real wreath. Last year I received one from Jen’s Wreaths and I loved it.

The smell of this wreath was wonderful. It was so pretty and delivered in a wonderful box so it wasn’t smushed at all. You can read my review from last year here (Jen’s Wreaths) She sells wreaths, swags, centerpieces and the most adorable candy cane shaped wreaths too! And they are delivered right to your door in time for the holidays. I just ordered my traditional wreath the other day. I can’t wait until it arrives! My front door looks naked without it.  One lucky winner will receive both items below.  A gorgeous holiday swag as well as the traditional wreath. You can always head on over to her website and order any style today. Feel free to use her current promo code BLACKFRIDAY for 10% off plus free shipping

When Owen started eating solids I knew that I wanted him to have real food! But I didn’t have time to make my own. Luckily around the time he was ready to eat, Beech-Nut came out with their 100% Natural Baby Food. They had wonderful flavors that weren’t just the gross combos that other baby food companies made. These were actually enjoyable and Owen loved them.  Plus they were so healthy for him. You can read all about their original products on my previous review here (Beech-Nut Review)

Now Beech-Nut is selling Coldpurée pouches. It’s a new line of products available in select stores around the country.

Beech-Nut is always innovating with the goal to make parents’ lives easier, so with convenience in mind, Beech-Nut’s nutritious food for babies is now hands-free. They still use the same unique cooking method as their Naturals and Organic jars – which they call the coldpuree method so you know that you are getting the exact same healthy food.  One lucky winner will receive the four pack pictured above! I was tempted to open them up for Owen, since they are perfect snacks for when we are on the go (aka at Target) but don’t worry, I saved them for you guys!

Last but certainly not least is a new product from Auro Yoga.

They sell a huge variety of yoga products from mats, to bags, clothing and a variety of other yoga accessories.  Their latest product is their beach and swim towel.

I received one a few weeks ago but since it’s a little too chilly here in NJ I couldn’t test it out at the pool or the beach. But I did try it out after my showers. I absolutely love the over sized towel.  This will be perfect at the beach for the kids. I can use it to dry off more than one kid or I can set up down on the sand and have two kids sit for their snacks.  It’s huge!  It’s made out of a very suber absorbent microfiber so you will dry off quickly.

unnamed-3 unnamed-4

You can find their products over at their website or on Amazon.  Just make sure that you use my discount code 2016ERIN to receive 20% off today!

So are you ready for the giveaway guys. Here’s what one lucky winner will receive:

Holiday Gift Guide

Hey folks, I know that it may seem a bit early, but the holidays are quickly approaching. Once Halloween ends everyone will have one thing on their minds – Christmas. Just this past week I noticed that some stores are full of Christmas lights and decorations already.  The toy sections are stocking up and I am already stressing about what to buy for the holidays.  I need gifts for my kids, family, teachers, etc. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but it can also be the most stressful time. I would love to take some of that stress off of you by helping my readers out.

10551020151224_0008  12316448_10207826821206445_680965706957542326_n

I thought that this year I would make a list of some of my favorite items and share them with you. They might be small stocking stuffers or maybe just some great gifts for a teacher or friend. I would also love to showcase products that I have reviewed on my blog or items that I have purchased outside of blogging life, whether they were from Etsy, my friends or neighbors, or local shops.  There are so many things that I would love to share with you.

So here’s what I am asking, if you would like your product or company to appear in my Holiday Must Have’s, let me know.  Shoot me an email, text me, Facebook me, etc.   I am also trying to put together a big giveaway of all of the items too.  Don’t get too excited, I am not Oprah!

If you want to be included in my list and want to participate in the giveaway, I am accepting donations of one (or two) of your items from your company. If you are unable to do that, maybe you could create a specific freebie or discount code for the winner?  I know that I have many friends that have small businesses and I am including you guys too. Don’t think that this is just for the larger companies that I write about on the blog! The only requirement is that I have ordered from you in the past and I have used or tested your product. I have a list already in my mind and I will be reaching out to some of you shortly. But, if you have a product that you sell, make and I haven’t tried it yet, but would love to be included on the list/giveway, contact me ASAP so I can test it out. I only like to showcase items that I have experience with.  Remember, the more the merrier!

Click on the image below to vote for me! This is one way that all of those awesome companies find me to review their products! The higher up on the list, the more requests that I get from companies.  So please, click this link and then click on the yellow box in the pop up screen! Thank you so much for your support.

Kwik Stix Paint Sticks Review & Giveaway

Painting is one of the things that my kids ask to do but I almost always try to come up with some excuse to get out of it. “Oh we don’t have time, we need to finish homework and baths”, “Ummmm, mommy just cleaned today, can we please paint another day?” or my favorite one “We are all out of paint brushes”.  I pray that they will forget all about it for a few weeks and then I can find a new set of excuses.  It’s such a hassle for me and not worth it some days. If they do get to paint it means that I am in a really good mood or I just picked up a new box of wine that day!  Next to Play-Dough, painting is pretty much the only craft that I despise pulling out of our craft closet.  I hate the brushes, the drops of wet paint everywhere and the constant dipping of brushes into water or God forbid into another color.  Why on earth would a kid think it was a good idea to mix colors! Okay that’s just my  neurotic self talking. I know they are just being creative.  But for the past few  years I have left the painting to their teachers at school.

But there has to be an easier way, I have tried all sorts of painting products. I like the paint with water books but the kids do not enjoy them as much as I do.

But then I was approached by The Pencil Grip, Inc. to review one of their products – Kwik Stix.

I have never heard of Kwik Stix until they reached out to me.  But let me tell you that I absolutely LOVE THEM.  I wasn’t sure if the kids would like it as much as their mommy, but they did.  Sean and Ben both had a blast painting.  They kept drawing pictures of me for some odd reason.  Maybe they were just so happy that I let them paint for once in 2015.

Kwik Stix are awesome, clean and there’s virtually NO CLEANUP!  They look like the size and shape of a standard glue stick but its paint in there and there’s NO MESS.  Did you hear me, no dripping water or paint onto clothes or my floors.  You don’t even need a brush, a smock or a bowl of clean water. You just take off the cap then twist it up from the bottom. It’s a very soft texture but it’s not runny or drippy.

The kids had a blast drawing pictures and painting them in. It is also a fast drying paint and has the finish of real paint.  They said that it would dry within 90 seconds and that was pretty accurate. The one small bit of paint that Sean got on the counters wiped off easily 1/2 hour later when I finally noticed it.   The only downside was that they were a little thick. Sean was working on a project and couldn’t stay in the lines.  So it would be great if maybe they had another version with a smaller tip for smaller projects. But other than that they worked great!

unnamed (5)  image

I have already let Sean use them twice this week! That’s shocking for me, painting before school on a Tuesday morning. WHAT?  I figured why not, there’s no clean-up for me.  He just puts the cap back on and viola we are done and I have some pretty cute pictures to hang up.

I would definitely recommend these for kids of all ages. It’s the perfect Christmas gift or stocking stuffer this year.  You can find them over at Amazon in a variety of packs.  It’s better than a crayon since it works on all types of materials.  Sean painted a canvas bag and it even works on wood, cardboard or canvas.  I might try a pumpkin later on and see if it sticks onto there!  That would save a lot of carving and mess next Halloween!  Heck, I even let Owen do some painting with them.  He tried to eat them at first but then he got the hang of it after I showed him how they worked.

I would definitely recommend these for kids of all ages!

The Pencil Grip, Inc. have offered to do a giveaway for my awesome readers. If you win, you will recieve a 6 pack of their Kwik Stix just in time for the holidays!!!!

The Mighty Mug — Review and Giveaway

I must admit I was pretty excited when I was approached to try The Mighty Mug for my website. I always wanted to try it out, but like many people, I was skeptical. How on earth could this cup possiblty work? Well, I am here to tell you that it does.  I was so excited to open it up when it arrived last week.  I ripped open the box, admired the awesome color and then before I even poured one once of liquid into the cup I set it down on the table and tried my best to knock it over.  It didn’t budge one bit.  Then I just picked it straight up and boom … it wasn’t stuck anymore!  It’s pretty amazing.

unnamed (6)   unnamed (8)

Whether you like hot or cold drinks, this mug is for you. I don’t know how many times when I used to have a desk job that I would knock over my cup of water or soda and spill my drink all over my papers or computer. Too many times to count, that’s for sure. It happens to everyone. No matter where you place your cup of coffee or water there’s always an elbow or a hand that makes contact for a split second causing a huge mess.

Now that I am home with my kids everyday, they are always trying to steal my glass of water or soda and often times the glass gets knocked over.  Well now I have a great way to keep my drink safe and the kids confused.  They still haven’t figured out how it works.  Sean called it my magic cup the other day.

Here’s a picture of one of my very handsome testers. He tried and tried to knock it off the counter but just couldn’t do it. Notice the tongue hanging out of his mouth.  He really was trying with all of his might to get that mug knocked over.

unnamed (7)

Thankfully, the makers of The Mighty Mug have come up with a pretty awesome solution.

Mighty Mug is the innovative mug that grips to your desk when knocked into. Say good-bye to your old mug that falls over and spills. Desks of the world rejoice!

Developed by a team of industrial designers and mechanical engineers, Mighty Mug, is the world’s only Mug that grips to your desk when knocked into, but lifts naturally.

Featured in over 100 publications and television shows worldwide, Mighty Mug and its patented Smartgrip Technology is sure to excite and amaze your friends and family.

Whether you are looking for a vacuum insulated mug to keep your beverage warm on the go, an ice tumbler for those hot summer days, or a travel mug to fit your single serve coffee machine, there is a Mighty Mug tailored to your needs.

Good Luck! I will be back later in the week for some more updates on the kids, the house and life!  It’s been a pretty hectic September.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No, I am not talking about Christmas!  You know what time it is. It’s Back to School time.  Yes, I know that the boys have been back for a few weeks now but I finally have the chance to catch up on everything!

The first few weeks have gone very well. Ben is an old pro at the bus and full day of school thing. Homework starts tonight for him so we will see how that goes. Oh and his first spelling test is this Friday.  Why am I soooo nervous? He loves that the first graders can buy snacks at lunch so of course he asks for a dollar everyday.  He LOVES getting an icy pop!  The kid is having a blast meeting new friends. Every day he comes home with a new name of someone that he met on the playground or he recognized from karate. It’s so cool seeing his excitement.

Sean has done very well too. He loves the bus and as far as I can tell he loves school too. He has had a few glitches with the bus but nothing major. On the second day of school he was stung by a bee right before he got off at our stop. The poor guy was hysterical but after 45 minutes of screaming and icing it, he passed out on the couch.

unnamed (22)

Then on the 3rd day of school he got off at the wrong stop. Thankfully he figured it out and jumped back on the bus before the driver pulled away. I wished he had never told me, but I have recovered (slightly). Other than that the bus has been ok.

Both of the boys are quiet when it comes to what actually happens at school. How was your day? Good. What did you do? Nothing.  I’ve tried asking in different ways.  Did you play kickball or basketball in gym?  Who did you sit next to at lunch today? Did anyone have to go see the principal?

But they still don’t answer.  Oh well, I guess that I better get used to that.

IMG_9935    IMG_9943

This week we had back to school night for each grade. Sean has the same teacher that Ben had last year so I know what to expect.  She said that Sean is doing well, he is just a chatterbox! SHOCKING! They have a very busy schedule each day but Sean is hanging tough. I think the hardest part is not having lunch until 1:25 pm.

unnamed (19)    unnamed (18)

Last night I met Ben’s teacher and sat in his desk. He is so excited that he has a spot in his desk for all of his papers and books (aka a real school desk and not a table).

unnamed (20)    unnamed (21)

So overall, this school year has been a success.  Let’s pray that we have a very UNEVENTFUL year of Kindergarten and First Grade! I will fill you in after conferences in Oct!

Oh and what have I been doing these past few weeks? Well I have been snuggling up with Owen, decorating for fall and trying to organize this house! Every day I tackle a new project.  I just fixed my kitchen sink this morning.  Later I need to tackle the toy room!

Vacation Part II: Rehoboth Beach & Hershey Park

So I am back for round two of my vacation diary!  You can catch up on Week 1 here!

The kids spent a few days at my inlaws while Owen and I headed back to New Jersey to catch up on housework and laundry!  I also had to get everything packed for the second week of our vacation.  This year we didn’t go to Avalon for our normal week.  We ended up staying local while the kids enjoyed weeks at basketball, CCD, camps and swimming lessons.  We had a very busy summer.  But towards the end of July, Joey and I were really missing our week away at the shore.  It was a little late to book a house in Avalon so we decided to head on down to Rehoboth.  We both grew up right in Delaware {Joey was only 15 minutes away from the beach town} but we never really vacationed in Rehoboth.  Yes, we spent tons of time there growing up but neither one of us actually stayed down there for a vacation.  It was so nice staying at a hotel right on the boardwalk!  We just parked our car for a few days and walked everywhere!  It was great! The beach and boardwalk were right outside our window.  Plus all of the restaurants, rides and games were a few blocks south on the boards, it was awesome!

Joey and I were in NJ and packed up and left Saturday morning to head down to the beach {for all your Jersey folks, we call it the beach in Delaware … I know it’s the shore in NJ}.  We took our time traveling down.  It is only a 3 hour drive but we decided that since we only had Owen that we would stop for lunch and hit up a few beer stores that we can never get into when we have the whole gang!  I think this trip took us 6-7 hours but it was fine.  Owen was a trooper!  We stopped for lunch at Two Stones Pub in Wilmington, DE.  We love this place! The food is awesome and the beer is superb!  We have never been disappointed!

We finally arrived at Joey’s parents around dinnertime!  We picked up some pizza and had dinner while we were reunited with our other two boys!  They almost forgot about us!  They have a blast down there in the open yard.  They swing, play basketball and we cook s’mores on the firepit!  It’s always a nice and relaxing time! Plus they live 2 minutes from Dogfish Head Brewery so we always stop in to see what’s new.   We spent the night there and the next morning headed into our hotel in Rehoboth.

We stayed at the Henlopen Hotel.  It’s nothing fancy but it has a great view and the rooms are decent.  It definitely needs some upgrades but it was perfect for us!  We couldn’t check in right away so we decided to go to Dogfish Head for lunch!  The kids always enjoy the food and mommy and daddy always enjoy the beers!

After lunch we headed to the beach for a few hours while we waited on our room.  I think that the kids were still a little nervous about the rough waves after last weeks knockdown.  But they still had a blast.  It was another rough day but they managed to get wet and sandy!  Owen on the other hand hid from the sun!  The kid sat like this for a good 10 minutes!  He cracks me up!

At this point we were all anxious to get into our room.  Luckily it was ready.  So we unpacked the car and headed on up!  I fell in love with our view.   I mean look at this!  I love falling asleep to the sounds of waves crashing and since it was a cool night we slept with the door open so we could hear all the wonderful sounds of the Atlantic!

After we checked in and unpacked a bit we headed on down to the boardwalk! Walking the boardwalk with my kids brought back sooooo many memories of my childhood.

I remember walking up and down the boards holding my dads hand as we walked past the “hotel that had the pool out front”.  It was my favorite place to look at. I loved how my boys had to stop and check out the pool as we walked down.  I loved taking my guys into Ryan’s Gems and Junk {I think that they just call it Ryan’s now}.  They sold some of the same “junk” from when I was a kid. I made Sean pose in front of the sea shell jewelry boxes! I guess that they never go out of style {were they ever in style}.

We stopped off at Obie’s by the Sea for dinner that night {after a hit up Candy Kitchen and the arcade}. I mean how can you not love this view at dinner!???

IMG_9604   IMG_9601

The boys were a little crazy but we somehow managed to get through dinner {after I had to remove one of them from the restaurant}.  The next morning was a little windy so we decided to go for a nice walk around Rehoboth and hit up the park for a little bit and then Grotto Pizza for lunch!  We can’t go down to Rehoboth without getting some slices from Grotto’s.

IMG_9620 IMG_9618

Then it was off to Funland. The rides were opening so we had to get there as soon as we could.  My inlaws came into town to spend the afternoon with us.   We had one major meltdown because of a game that we will never mention again.  Okay it was that damn claw game! Come on, it’s rigged… The 6 year old boy never win it!  But despite the breakdown we did get on a few rides! Owen went on the boats for the very first time! It’s a tradition that all kids must ride those boats {there are quite a few generations in our families that have spent many of summers ridding those boats}.

IMG_9625 IMG_9626 IMG_9646

After the rides, we decided to go down to the beach for a few hours before dinner.  It was such a gorgeous night!

IMG_9700   IMG_9696

Since we loved Obie’s the night before we decided to go back again! It was the perfect spot to bring the kids and the stroller.  This night was a little smoother and the kids were pretty well behaved!

Tuesday morning we met up with some good friends on the beach in the morning.  We spent a few hours down there playing and relaxing in the sand.  After they left it was off to lunch at Nicola Pizza and then back to the beach! That night was our last night in town so we had to go big!  We spent a ton of time back at the rides and the boys went into the Haunted Mansion for the very first time! Again this ride has been there FOREVER so we knew it was time for them to get on it. I love how they pretended to be so scared waiting in line but their faces as they came out of it were priceless! They were scared to death!  It was awesome!

After the rides we hit up the ice cream shop and ran into a skunk in the dunes before heading back home to get some rest.

IMG_9729 IMG_9730

The next morning was checkout time! Since we were so close to Joey’s parents we decided to drive there and drop off Owen.  We had a few more things that we wanted to do with the boys and it was just easier if we didn’t have the stroller {sorry Owen}!  We just had to squeeze in one more day of rides and miniature golf!!

IMG_9735   IMG_9736

After we finished up the day in Rehoboth it was time to head back to my inlaws!  That leg of our trip was coming to an end!

We spent a few days relaxing at my inlaws before we packed up the car and headed to Hershey Park!  That was an interesting trip.  The boys were soooo naughty that night in the hotel that we almost didn’t go to the park the next morning.  But we sucked it up and took them!  They weren’t on their best behavior but I think that they still had a blast!

IMG_9777   IMG_9773

IMG_9790   IMG_9792

Overall, we had an awesome time.  Yes there were a lot of moments where the boys were fighting and we were all yelling, but I know that we will look back and only remember all of the fun times and memories that were made that week.  Ok I’ll still remember Ben’s breakdown when he didn’t win the Despicable Me minion at that claw game!  But I will mainly remember the skee-ball games, the rides, and of course the massive amounts of pizza and ice cream that we consumed! I can’t wait to see what next summer brings for us!

Now the kids saw the Silly McGilly book and doll the other night so of course we read it right away.  Ben was so excited to put Silly in his window.  The next morning he woke up and noticed that Silly messed up all of his stuffed animals!  Every night he asks about Silly.  He is still in our window!  Tomorrow the boys will wake up to a new trick!  I don’t know if I will be able to put him away until St. Patrick’s Day.  Ben might not want to give him up.

Roughy Toys – One 2 One

A few months ago I was asked to talk about Roughy Toys.  I am a little behind on my blog posts so I apologize for just sharing this now. But make sure that you check out this amazing toy and there may even be a little giveaway at the end of the post!

Meet Alex.

Isn’t he adorable? Is he a monkey or is he a bear? Either way, he is an awesome guy.  Alex likes to bring lots of joy to children, especially to the ones who may not be able to afford their own toys and stuffed animals. Thanks to Roughy Toys, Alex is bringing smiles to kids all over the world.

Roughy Toys is a great company and when they reached out to me, I knew that I needed to jump on the chance to work with them.  My kids have a million stuffed animals, very few of them come with any meaning other than it’s their favorite character from a book or a television show.  But this guy, Alex,  is awesome.  He is the cutest little monkey/bear that Owen likes to cuddle with when we are hanging out in his room.  He sits right on top of his toy box in Owen’s room.

Now why is Alex so amazing?  Well Alex is amazing because for every Alex that is purchased, one is donated to a child in need.  Amazing!  Roughy Toys also have an amazing book called Adventures of Alex.  This can either be bought together with or without Alex.  Just some of the places the donated Alex’s travel to: children’s hospitals, Ronald McDonald houses, domestic abuse shelters, orphanages, and homeless shelters.

Roughy Toys was founded by husband and wife team, Rich & Grace Twilley after an inspiring visit to Brazil. While Rich was finishing his masters, he visited the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil and witnessed children in extreme poverty – children with no toys.
When he got home, he was playing with his two year old son Mark and realized that he didn’t need just another toy, he needed a more meaningful toy and Alex was born.

It’s an amazing toy.  If you would like to share a stuffed animal, please go online to Roughy Toys and purchase one today for only $29.95.  Not only will Alex put a smile on your own child’s face, but Alex will also bring joy to one other child that would never have the opportunity to purchase him.  You also have the chance to win one of your own from Roughy Toys.  They have been kind enough to do a giveaway for all of my wonderful readers.

Check out my Erin the Irish Mama Facebook page for the Roughy toy giveaway.  All you need to do is like the post, share it and leave a comment on who you would like to win one for!

Remember to check out Roughy Toys

Mother’s Therapy Organics {Product Review & Giveaway}

As a mother of three boys {I still can’t believe it either}, I am always looking for a great hand sanitizer or lotion.  Especially since we have a newborn in the house. Between the cold weather, the multiple diaper changes, washing bottles and just regular hand washing my hands are very dry and cracked.   Plus since it’s cold and flu season I have been trying everything to keep these boys {especially baby Owen} germ free.

I was recently sent some Mother’s Therapy Organic products to test out in my house.  I received the germ-fight’n hand lotion as well as the hand sanitizer.

The germ-fight’n hand lotion is wonderful.  It is something that I can use before/after diaper changes.  I don’t need to wash my hands constantly which dries them out.  The lotion is soft and smells awesome — like fresh cucumbers!  You won’t be disappointed.  Oh and it’s safe for kids too.  Sean’s hands are always dry and cracked and it’s hard convincing him to put on lotion. But since this smells so good he has actually let me use it on him quite often!  And I like that it is also germ fighting, because we know all about boys and germs!

The hand sanitizer is excellent as well.  It does not dry out my hands and I love that it’s organic. I have had it in my purse for  a few weeks and I use it all of the time {especially after pushing shopping carts at Target or leaving my son’s preschool}.

Mother’s Therapy Organics uses the purest organic and natural ingredients. As the natural alcohol evaporates, it leaves behind our skin-softening aloe vera-based lotion which becomes infused into the skin so no extra rubbing is required. The end result? A non-greasy hand sanitizer that can be used as often as needed without the worry of damage to sensitive skin.

If you would like to read more about Mother’s Therapy Organics or order some for yourself, please click one of their links below for more information. Not only do they offer the two products above but they also have a baby lotion and a kids hand sanitizer!

And So It Begins….

I have lost my mind. Okay, I am exaggerating a bit but I am officially going to start the Beach Body 21 Day Challenge next week! I can’t believe that I am going to try this. I never do anything other than Weight Watchers to lose weight.  But I really need help and fast.  I was going to do Weight Watchers again but a good friend talked me into joining her on this journey! Well she didn’t have to convince me too much since I desperately need to lose at least 35 lbs before the summer and this looked like an awesome way to start.  So over the next 21 days I will be trying out Shakeology, doing daily exercise programs and filling these gorgeous color coded containers with healthy foods!  Say a pray that I make it through. It must be good because I heard that the program is already sold out / on back order!

I will try and blog about my journey but if I don’t get around to doing posts, I will keep you all up to date on Facebook {Erin the Irish Mama}

And I can’t believe that I am going to do this but I am going to show you a before picture.  Not today so don’t get too excited to make fun of my fatty pants over here! I just haven’t had a moment to ask the hubby to snap off some horrible pre pics of me yet.  But when I do, you will see what 3 c-sections in less than 6 years can do to a body.  Not to mention that I carried 2 babies that were well over 9lbs and one that was over 10lbs.  So my body was stretched to the max.  I took this the morning that I had Owen 2 1/2 months ago {and my body still hasn’t recovered}.

40 weeks IMG_2861

It’s not pretty but it’s what I am up against. I am determined to get back into shape.  I may never wear a bikini again and I may not be a size 4 but if I can be healthy and fit back into my smaller clothes than I will be happy!  This was my 3rd and final pregnancy and I tried my best not to gain a ton of weight but I knew it was the last time I would ever have an excuse to have one more oreo or one more slice of pizza.  Those excuses need to end now!  But don’t worry I LOVE food so I am never going to be that person that always eats healthy. I love my pizza and tacos way too much!

PS. Oh and in case you were wondering, I am not being paid or compensated to try this diet.  I didn’t get free samples or a trial deal.  This is all on me! I just thought I would keep a journal of my journey to share with you all.  I did this the last time that I was trying to lose weight and I wanted to do it again.  It’s just another form of accountability. If I have to report into you guys and show pictures then maybe I will try just a little bit harder and I won’t reach for that bag of chips.  I’m just thankful that I am starting after this weeks snow storm.

Wish me luck!
